“We are so delighted to have passed this milestone, and with it the knowledge that our approach supports the thousands of people, across the country and around the world. -Robert Sege, MD, PHD, FAAP, Director at the HOPE National Resource Center
The HOPE movement continues to grow across the USA and beyond
BOSTON, MA, January 28, 2025 – The HOPE National Resource Center has now trained 100,000 workshop participants on the HOPE framework. This incredible milestone was reached at the 41st Annual International Conference on Child and Family Maltreatment, sponsored by the Chadwick Center for Children and Families at Rady Children’s Health. where HOPE Directors Robert Sege, MD, PHD, FAAP, Dina Burstein, MD, MPH, and Amie Myrick, MS, LCPC hosted a 3-part workshop series on supporting child abuse prevention, systems-impacted families, and staff wellbeing through the HOPE framework.
“Our attendees gathered at the conference with a shared purpose: to do whatever it takes to eradicate child abuse and prevent its reoccurrence,” said Virginia Cox, LCSW, Director of Clinical Operations at the Chadwick Center. “The HOPE framework gave our attendees the opportunity to move closer to achieving that purpose by developing tangible tools to transform our therapeutic work, strengthening our approaches with families, and reimagining how we communicate across systems—so we can truly do better for children and families.”
The HOPE framework inspires professionals and organizations to create positive changes
In 2019, Dr. Sege led a groundbreaking research study that found that positive childhood experiences (PCEs) promote resilience and improve long-term health and well-being. Soon after, he launched the HOPE National Resource Center. The HOPE team developed the strengths-based HOPE framework that helps anyone promote PCEs and create positive changes for children and families.
In addition to reaching 100,000 workshop participants, the HOPE National Resource Center currently certifies over 700 HOPE Facilitators, individuals trained to lead Introduction to HOPE workshops, and led over 550 workshops across all 50 U.S. states and internationally.
“We are so delighted to have passed this milestone, and with it the knowledge that our approach supports the thousands of people, across the country and around the world, who are dedicating their lives to helping children and their families,” said Dr. Sege. “I especially thank the hundreds of HOPE facilitators who made this moment happen.”
