FAAITH (Faith leaders Allied and Aligned to Institute Trust in the Home) and HOPE

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Systems for Action program, awarded FAAITH, a new Trenton-based NGO, Tufts Medical Center, and the Shiloh Community Development Corporation a one-year planning grant to expand a congregationally based, faith-infused home visiting program to address racial disparities and inequities. The project, FAAITH and HOPE for equitable systems alignment, supports Reverend Darrell Armstrong, Founder of FAAITH and Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, and his efforts to integrate the HOPE framework into his ministry work and that of other faith leaders.

Project dates: March 15, 2023 – March 14, 2024

HOPE for faith leaders presentation

This slide deck was presented to faith leaders. The presentation provided education on the HOPE framework and help them understand how to assess for positive childhood experiences when talking to members of their congregation. REAL impact survey

Taking the REAL (Racial Equity and Assessment Learning) impact survey helps researchers understand how systemic racism shows up in the lives of children and families. Please note that when people take the survey, they will be asked to identify whether these experiences are related to the public health, medical, and/or social services systems.

HOPE in faith communities toolkit

Faith communities are in a unique position to promote positive childhood experiences (PCEs) for children, youth, and families. Lifelong engagement, access to the whole family, programming, consistent contact, and outreach during traumatic times and their aftermath. The HOPE National Resource recognizes that the our values often align with various faith communities. Examples of this include: focusing on the good in people, not passing judgment on others, the importance of family and community through fellowship, and that a person’s past does not define who they are as a human being.
