Incorporating HOPE during a child welfare safety assessment
These simulation videos present two different deliveries of a safety assessment completed by a child welfare professional. One video shows the provider using the HOPE framework when speaking to the parent. The other video presents a similar conversation, but the provider does not use HOPE. The videos are intentionally dramatized to more obviously show the difference when using HOPE.
We recommend watching the “Without HOPE” video before moving on to the “With HOPE” video. As you watch these two videos. take note of the differences you see between the two screenings.
In the videos, the provider is played by Amanda Winn, Director of Training and Technical Assistance. The client is played by Eliza Loren Purdue, Training and Technical Assistance Project Manager.
