Experience positive childhood experiences (PCEs) through a board game
This River of Connection Game (PDF) was created by HOPE Facilitators Beth Crispin and Faith Eakin from the Family Connection’s Program at Seattle Children’s Hospital. This is a game to play with your family and friends to learn about each other and our environment. The questions and activities focus on the Four Building Blocks of HOPE, key types of positive childhood experiences (PCEs) that all children need to thrive. The board game is available to download and print (best printed on 11 x 17 paper). Players can use accessible household objects like small rocks or crayons for moving pieces. Half of the sheet is designed to be a coloring sheet. It can be used with families, in classrooms, with work teams, and more. The Spanish version is coming soon.
The game design and artwork were created by Bryan Wilson — an illustrator, educator, and arts and culture administrator in Seattle, WA with a passion for using wonder and imagination as tools for supporting learners’ holistic growth.
Download the game and enjoy playing today! Please contact Beth Crispin or Faith Eakin for more information.
