Learning to incorporate HOPE with other existing frameworks like Strengthening Families [was the most helpful aspect of the Champion training]. We [Bayou Lotus Corporation] have become a certified HOPE organization and are integrating HOPE throughout our organization.
I have been able to impact my organization and community by speaking about the HOPE framework beliefs and practices through workshops and seminars.
The HOPE Framework provides a solution-based method for solving the most critical problems facing our communities today. It gives community leaders HOPE when collaborating to meet the needs of its citizens and creates a win-win situation for everyone.
[As a HOPE Champion] I have incorporated HOPE across my 15 programs in 36 counties in my state. I advocated for TDOH [Tennessee Department of Health] Office of Strategic Initiatives to use HOPE in their PCEs [positive childhood experiences] messaging and both state reps plan to get trained as HOPE Facilitators. We [Centerstone] have been working to promote PCEs [positive childhood experiences] with a multigenerational approach for many years, but HOPE is being used to create the common language across all levels and in the community so that we can progress more quickly.
The online videos [and] the opportunity to talk to others in the training [were the most helpful aspects.] DO IT!!
The HOPE framework has allowed me to talk about positive experiences for children AND adults in a variety of ways. If you are interested in discovering ways to improve organizational and community cultures – HOPE has been a great “on ramp” for spreading these ideas in a variety of settings.
I have been able to offer HOPE information to the newest hospital residents in our town and I have been part of a team that updated our Kindergarten Readiness Evaluations to be strength-based rather than deficit-based. I use the HOPE lens in my daily work with the public and my coworkers as well as my personal life with my autistic child. I was recently part of a team to bring HOPE to our Commission.
It [HOPE Champion Certification program] is the most powerful personal and professional enrichment/learning activity I have done in a long time.
It [Train the Facilitator Certification program] emphasizes the ability to be flexible and adjust facilitation techniques to meet the specific needs of the group. Also the ability to build confidence by gaining a solid understanding of facilitation techniques and getting constructive feedback from the practices [is useful].
If you know ACES this [HOPE framework] will tie it all together.
