Loren McCullough is a research assistant at the Center for Community-Engaged Medicine. Having recently graduated from Boston University, Loren has dedicated her career path to community engagement and equity in developmental medicine. Previously, Loren has worked with Boston-area families as a student intern at Boston Children’s Hospital, where she was involved in studies developed to understand the way preschool children understand and adapt emotional expressions. She has also worked with the Harvard School of Public Health to investigate addictive triggers in adult residents. During her undergraduate years, Loren designed an independent project to research equity in interactions between teachers and preschool students in private care systems. Her work continues to be motivated by a desire to enforce policy change built on real-world family successes. Loren received her B.A. in Psychology from Boston University, where she graduated summa cum laude with minors in English and Deaf Studies.
